“As I got older, I realized I had the same knack for pulling things together,” he says. That determination was evident early on. He once sold watermelons at 16 just to buy a bed he had his eye on. Today, Brandon weaves the richness of Southern traditions, its people, food, and sense of community, into interiors that honor heritage while feeling fresh and modern.

Design Style

Brandon describes his style as refined Southern traditional with a modern edge. A balance of tailored elegance with a lived-in feel. He’s drawn to timeless forms, heirloom craftsmanship, and natural textures, but refreshes them with updated color, scale, and layering. “Think of it as quiet luxury with a Southern soul: welcoming, polished, and deeply personal,” he explains.

Finding Inspiration

Much of Brandon’s inspiration comes from the South itself. Its architecture, gardens, traditions, and heritage passed down through families. He admires classic designers like Bunny Williams and Ralph Lauren, who masterfully balance timelessness with comfort, as well as heirloom objects that carry stories and history. From China patterns and tobacco fields to camellias in bloom, these elements give his work a sense of memory and permanence.

A Favorite Project

While Brandon has completed many meaningful projects, building his own home stands out as his proudest accomplishment. From the initial layout to the final styling, he shaped the space into a true reflection of his personal style. “It was the ultimate exercise in creating something both timeless and personal,” he says. Artwork plays a central role in Brandon’s design philosophy. He sources pieces from a variety of places. Sometimes painting them himself, sometimes finding vintage treasures, and often collaborating with local artists. “There’s something special about finding work with a story behind it,” he says. • Favorite design trend right now? “I don’t generally prescribe to trends. My spaces are meant to feel curated and timeless, not like they’ll be outdated in a season. If I lean into anything, it’s the renewed interest in pieces with history and craftsmanship, they never go out of style.”
• A color you’re loving? “I’m always drawn to layered color and pattern, but lately I find myself reaching for rich, saturated tones that add depth to a room while still feeling inviting.”
• A design rule you always follow, or love to break? “Every chair should have a place for a drink, and every room should have a mix of seating so everyone feels comfortable. As for rules I love to break? All-beige rooms. I’d rather layer in pattern, texture, and color to create a space that feels lived-in and collected.”
