Designer Spotlight: Maddie Powell
Share
At The Green Room Gallery, we love celebrating interior designers who bring personality, creativity, and warmth into every space they touch. For our very first Designer Spotlight, we’re thrilled to feature Maddie Powell, whose refined yet playful approach to design has captured our attention.
Meet Maddie Powell
Maddie has always been drawn to creating intentional, meaningful spaces. “Even as a kid, I was constantly rearranging my room and helping friends with theirs,” she says. Her love for design grew into a passion for creating interiors that not only look beautiful but feel good, striking that perfect balance between elegance and livability. “I want people to feel truly at home in their spaces.”
Maddie’s Design Style
If Maddie had to describe her design style in just a few words? “Transitional with a twist. Refined, inviting, and quietly sophisticated, with a playful mix of Southern charm, color, pattern, and a touch of whimsy.”
She finds inspiration everywhere: in travel, nature, the patina of old architecture, or something as simple as a fresh flower arrangement. This natural curiosity translates into designs that are layered, thoughtful, and timeless.

The Role of Art in Her Spaces
For Maddie, original artwork isn’t an afterthought, it’s essential. “Art brings depth, soul, and that little bit of unexpected charm that makes a room feel complete,” she explains. Whether it’s a calming seascape or a vibrant abstract, she sources pieces that evoke a specific mood: “I start with the feeling I want the room to have, and then I look for art that supports that mood.”

A Favorite Project
One of Maddie’s standout projects is a dreamy seaside-inspired powder bath, featuring stunning wallpaper and a serene atmosphere that feels like stepping into a sunlit garden. “It’s playful but polished, the kind of space that makes you pause and smile,” she says.
