The Coffee Table Book Is Officially Underway

The submission period has closed, the review process is complete, and I’m so excited to share that artist selections for our first coffee table book have now been finalized. Curating this collection has been one of the most meaningful parts of this project so far. Seeing how each artist expresses the coast in their own way, and watching those perspectives connect with each other.

To everyone who submitted: thank you. Truly. The talent, and thought put into your work did not go unnoticed.

Now, we move into the next chapter.

----------------------

Where Things Stand Now

All artwork has already been grouped into themes that feel cohesive and natural. This book is meant to invite someone to slow down, turn pages at their own pace, and stay a while.

Some artists in the book will have dedicated two-page spreads, where their artwork and artist bio are shared together. Other artists will be featured in curated mood board pages alongside works that naturally complement each other in color, texture, or feeling. These pages are all about visual storytelling, so they won’t include full bios, but each artist represented will still be credited and acknowledged in the book.

From here, it’s all about shaping the visual narrative:

  • Deciding how the pages move from one mood into the next

  • Pairing pieces that speak to each other

  • Creating strong opening and closing moments

  • Letting certain works shine all on their own

It’s thoughtful work, and it takes some time, but it’s also my favorite part.

A Glimpse Behind the Scenes

This stage feels a bit like arranging a gallery show, only in book form.

There are lots of small decisions that change the feeling of the whole:

  • Which piece opens the book?

  • What image do we place before a page of stillness?

  • Where should the viewer linger or pause?

Some pages will feature full artwork spreads. Others may zoom in closer on surface texture, brushstrokes, or movement, those tiny moments that make you fall in love with a piece even more.

It’s not about perfection; it’s about flow. The feeling of moving through something layered and real.

What Happens Next

From now through late October, the focus is entirely on page layout and refining the visual storyline. Once that’s complete, we’ll move into the final review stage, and then pre-orders will open November 1st.

Printing and production will take place in November and December. And Our official release will be December 5th.

Why This Book Matters

This project is about more than just assembling images.

It’s about honoring coastal places that feel like home, showcasing artists who bring those places to life, and making art feel approachable, livable, and part of everyday life.

This book isn’t just something to look at once and set aside. It’s meant to stay out, to be picked up in passing, to start conversations, and to make people feel something. I hope it brings a little more meaning and connection into the spaces it ends up in.

More Updates Coming Soon

Over the next few weeks, I’ll share small behind-the-scenes looks as the book comes to life. Look out for cover previews, page peeks, preorder reminders, and more.

If you want to be first to know when pre-orders open, make sure you’re on the email list.

Thank you again to everyone who submitted. Your work made this possible, and it’s the heart of what this book is all about.
